ofxFreenect2Depth

a quick and dirty super minimal alternative to ofxKinectV2 on macos

I made this addon because the libusb for macos bundled with ofxKinectV2 was x86_64 only, and I only needed the depth image for most of my projects. I advise to use the official ofxKinectV2 addon instead of this one. I plan to update ofxKinectV2 ASAP to replace it (see Todo section below).

NOTE : you need some libs installed on your system for this addon to work. See the first command line below (brew install), but it seems that only libusb is really required.

Steps to reproduce :

brew install cmake libusb glfw pkg-config jpeg-turbo git clone https://github.com/OpenKinect/libfreenect2.git cd libfreenect2 replace all CMAKE_MINIMUM_REQUIRED versions with 3.16 in all CMakeLists.txt files mkdir build cd build cmake .. -DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=OFF make -j8 move libfreenect2.a from libfreenect2/build/lib to the addon move all headers from libfreenect2/build/libfreenect2 and libfreenect2/include/libfreenect to the addon

Todo :

It seems that only the static libusb for arm64 is required to make the ofxKinectV2 work. A nice thing to do would be to create a fat static libusb that would work on amd64 and arm64.

--> done and works, but still suffers from permission errors on sequoia, should be signed by a dev acount ?
